The DitchLilies - Maiden Rock, WI

10:00 - 11:30

Wisconsin's American and International Roots duo, The DitchLilies have been in musical cahoots since 1998. Kari Larson and Lisa Schultz are stringed multi-instrumentalists/vocalists with a soft spot and keen enthusiasm for early swing, old-time mountain music, world roots and juke joint songs from the golden era. Together, they turn back in time to dust off the rare and forgotten tunes or to hone the familiar tried and true melodies with the aim of carrying them forward to share with audiences of today. Variously tender and bold, imaginative and well-crafted, The DitchLilies bring a refreshing sound to the roots music revival. Kari Larson: mandolin, reso-phonic guitars, tenor guitar, reso-phonic ukulele, and vocals. Lisa Schultz: guitar, clawhammer banjo, mandolin and vocals.

Patty and The Buttons - Minneapolis, MN

1:00 - 3:00

Patty and The Buttons preach the gospel of hot rhythm and happy feet. The band is similar to what you would find in a dance hall, cafe or nightclub anywhere around the world between 1920-1940. Despite being an ensemble firmly rooted in tradition, the band presents their music without being shackled to history. They play their own compositions as well as takes on music of the era. Patty’s eclectic taste gives the band diverse influences including New Orleans Traditional Jazz, Western Swing, Gypsy Melodies, Ragtime Piano Blues, Jug Music and 1930′s Popular Song. Patty, mostly known as an accordionist doubles as the bands vocalist. His voice is inspired most by the old time hollers and croons from the dawn of recording once described as “Tom Waits meets Rudy Vallee.”
