Every business is on its own path, requiring timely, tailored advice. This session features a panel that possesses a wealth of knowledge on various key topics: from working with print media, social media and video, to preparing for tradeshows and strategic marketing in retail and public relations. Come with questions—these consultants are at your service. Jot down questions ahead of time or voice them during the Q&A. And be prepared to take notes, because these will be ideas to put into action.

 

Brian Erickson, moderator

Minnesota Department of Agriculture New Markets Program

Brian manages the New Markets Program at the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, which supports more than 100+ small Minnesota food companies. Programming include cost-sharing that helps companies execute more in-store demos and B2B trade events, and coordination of Minnesota Pavilions at food and beverage tradeshows around the country. A St. Cloud State grad. in Biology and Environmental Science, Brian lives in Plymouth with his patient wife, Jennifer, and a needy yellow lab, Indie.

 

Nancy Goodwin

As a Business Development Specialist, Nancy's work continues to evolve to meet the needs of clients. Her services range from business plans and strategic planning to organizational development and marketing and communication plans. She sees her strengths in creating valuable connections and in designing strategic solutions for her clients' challenges. 

 

 

Jill Holter 

Food Makers Academy

Jill is a marketing professional in both the CPG and non-profit food sectors. Formerly the local forager at Lakewinds Food Co-op, she sought and mentored small food businesses with an eye to trends and strong brand story, bringing them to retail shelf success in the Twin Cities. She’s been a frequent food and wellness media spokesperson in the region as well. Currently she the co-founder and CMO of Food Makers Academy, an online course for small food startups around the country, which will launch in early 2020

 

 

Marlene Petersen

Marlene Petersen is the editor of FEAST! Local Foods Magazine, a publication she helped found in 2018. She's also the former editor of Rochester Women Magazine and a recovering lawyer. She's worked with the FEAST! marketing team for five years and has been a novelist, editor, and journalist for over 20.  A storyteller to her core, she enjoys sharing great tales with the widest audience possible.

Brand Yourself Consulting

Caity is Brand Yourself Consulting's Chief Operating Officer and manages all things production. From strategy reports, to Facebook ads, to producing video, she truly does and loves it all. She has a passion for helping brands reach their true potential by providing marketing strategies that actually work.
