Capra Nera Creamery is the story of a girl and her goats! A childhood passion for goats led Katie Bonow (cheesemaker and goat midwife), to owning her very first goat - a Nubian named Blossom. Home cheesemaking experiments quickly ensued. Further education in Italy and Vermont have improved Katie's cheesemaking skills, and the goat herd maintains its lineage back to it's matriarch, Blossom. Located in the Driftless Region, near Altura, MN, Capra Nera Creamery focuses on making high quality, hand-crafted batches of farmstead, raw milk goat cheese.
